For the last 15 years, DrPeering has identified critical but undocumented area of Internet Operations.

We researched these areas with the Operations Community and documented the area definitions, motivations, strategies, etc. The initial drafts were reviewed using “walk throughs”, where Internet Operators provided their views, their data points, their criticisms, and their insights based on their experiences. These folks were credited in the Acknowledgements section and footnoted where appropriate for the next set of walk throughs. After enough walk throughs, the responses tended to migrate from constructive feedback to nods of acceptance, at which time a draft was made available to the broader Internet Operations community.

These research efforts are never “done” but rather are considered living documents, evolving with input from the community, reflecting the current practices in the previously undocumented area.

This research is collected from the community so is made freely available to the community as web pages.  Comments welcome to DrPeering@DrPeering.net.
